Clos des Papes, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Red 2018, 750ml

Clos des Papes does not need special recommendations as it is one of the most famous wineries in the South Rhone.
The red Châteauneuf-du-Pape of 2017 is the result of mixing many different vineyards of the appellation of origin, with 45% Grenache, 40% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah and the remaining percentage to be shared among some of the rarest allowed varieties.
Above the varieties are co-vinified and then the wine ages for 15 months in large oak barrels.
The wine wins you over with its complexity but also with its aromatic concentration.
The aromas that will emerge first from our glass are ripe strawberries, black and red cherry, raspberry jam, anise, lavender, violet and leather.
In the mouth it is full, with accentuated acidity, velvety but noticeable tannins, with Mourvèdre making its presence slightly more noticeable. Although "accessible" at this stage, despite its young age, it can age for at least another 10 to 12 years.
Infuse it at least 30 minutes before eating it and enjoy it ideally at 15 to 16 degrees Celsius.
