La Spinetta, Pin Monferrato Rosso, Red 2006, 750ml

This particular wine got its name from the nickname of Giuseppe Rivetti, which was Pin, and is a blend of 65% Nebbiolo and 35% Barbera.
The grapes come from the Neive community of Barbaresco, and both varieties were harvested almost a month apart.
After being vinified separately, and their maturation in new oak barrels of medium burning for almost 17 months was completed, then they were now mixed in stainless steel tanks.
The result is a charming and well-structured red wine with aromas of ripe cherries, plums, sweet spices and tobacco.
In the mouth it is very balanced, with accentuated acidity, well-worked and well-integrated tannins and a long spicy aftertaste.
Ideally, it should be poured, in a relatively small carafe with a narrow opening, 30 minutes before consumption and served at 15 to 16 degrees Celsius.
